With a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UC Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from California State University, Los Angeles, Alona has over seventeen years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, including six years conducting nutritional research at UCLA and over thirteen years of clinical experience, creating diets for people at risk for and/or struggling with: diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, IBD (digestive disorders,) food intolerance/aversion, kidney disease, cancer, weight management, weight loss, weight gain, emotional eating, eating disorders and bariatric procedures (gastric sleeve and bypass, lap-band.)

Alona is passionate about helping clients choose the right foods and make the eating experience fun and simple, allowing clients “to eat to live and not live to eat.” She provides meal plans, uniquely tailored for each individual client, including simple, easy-to-prepare recipes. Alona also takes clients on private, “Super Market Tours,” helping them sort through the commercialized confusion of products and select the most nutritious foods catered to their specific health goals.

Alona also has been a Bariatric dietitian for over eleven years and specializes in Bariatric surgery for those interested in weight loss surgery. She helps patients lose weight in order to be approved for the weight loss surgeries and how to stay well-nourished and successfully continue to lose weight long term post-surgery.
